Confidential, no cost, no obligation
Speak to an adviser, or register as a buyer
FIH advises owners of privately held companies through sale processes. If you are beginning to think about an exit, or you simply want to understand what your options look like, a first conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing. If you are on the other side of the table, you can register what you buy and how you would fund it, which is free and commits you to nothing either.
Send a message
This form is the way to reach FIH about anything on this site. No address is published here, which keeps it out of the hands of everything that scrapes for one.
Before you write
Please do not send confidential information yet. A first message should say roughly what the business does, roughly what size it is, and what you are trying to work out. That is enough to have a useful conversation. Financial statements, customer names and anything sensitive should wait until there is a signed engagement and a proper channel.
Sending a message does not create an advisory or professional relationship, and it is not covered by any professional privilege. That relationship begins only under a signed engagement. See the terms and the privacy notice, which explains what happens to what you send.
What we will not do. Nobody here will tell you what your business is worth from an email, quote you a multiple, or promise a price or a timetable. Anyone who does that on a first contact is selling something. The multiples page explains why the numbers circulating online do not apply to most businesses.
Confidentiality. FIH engagements are confidential, and remain so. No client is named or described anywhere on this site, and none ever will be.
Corrections. If you are writing about an error in the data, the corrections page says what to include so it can be fixed quickly.
If you are registering as a buyer
FIH is a mergers and acquisitions advisory firm and it generally acts for sellers. That is worth knowing before you write, because it tells you which side of the table this firm sits on.
What registering does
It records what you buy, where, at what price you can transact and how a purchase would be funded, in a form a person can act on. Capital status is the field that matters most. A buyer who is already pre-qualified with a lender has been underwritten by somebody other than themselves, and that is the difference between a criteria set worth keeping and a wish list.
Specificity is the other half. "Restaurants in Harris County at $1M to $3M, SBA pre-qualified" is a buyer. "Any business, any size, anywhere" is not, and the form is built to let that difference show rather than to hide it.
What it does not do
It does not make you a client of FIH, does not create any advisory or professional relationship, and does not entitle you to be shown any business. No business is listed or offered for sale anywhere on this site. Nothing here is an offer, a solicitation or investment advice, and no deal flow, transaction, price or result is promised in return. Registering is free and commits you to nothing.
And one thing about the numbers. Every figure on this site is an SBA loan amount, not a sale price. A loan is the debt-financeable part of a deal and sits alongside equity, seller paper and rollover that the federal file does not record. Do not read a median loan as a median price.
What this site is
LMMMA is a reference, not a marketplace. No business is listed for sale here, nothing on the site is an offer or a solicitation, and nothing on it is legal, tax, accounting or investment advice. FIH acts as an intermediary in the purchase and sale of privately held companies, and does not conduct public offerings, engage in general solicitation of securities, or take custody of funds or securities. Disclosures sets out the whole commercial picture.
